I'm here. Well, not Boston exactly, but Somerville. Close enough.
Moved into Apt #2 last Saturday week. Had to carry 3 fucking suitcases up the stairs, no elevator. It's all right - not at that moment, but the pain in my arms vanished as Bruce, the landlord, showed me the kitchen - pain replaced by horror at the disgusting, unswept floor, the pots/pans piling up in the sink, and the refrigerator and microwave crusted with food of an "age long gone by, an age, perhaps, soon to return". Not if I can help it, though.
Walked to Davis Square to see how far away the T was. 15-20 minutes away, a decent walk at a brisk pace. Ate at a crepe place, it wasn't too great. Not crepe-y, though, haha.
My goddamn computer decided to take a vacation of its own. For several days, well, until last Thursday. I fiddled with the boot loader, boot strapper, laces, tongue, etc., and tied them together with a pleasant Ubuntu-shaped knot. The drivers were screwed up for a bit and again, I untied and retied - seems to work, but I'm not turning this sucker off.
Work is pretty cool. I'm testing drivers for an on-flight computer's graphics card. So far, so... well, not good - decent, because it took a while to get used to the place, the environment, the software they use and associated junk.
Room mates: Jamie's 26, works for a security company. Helped me clean the kitchen for a day. Took me to visit his parents in Plymouth, where the famous Plymouth Rock is. I shouldn't have used Capital Letters for that. Rather unimpressive. There was this big-ass dog there, though. I asked the lady what was walking it how much it weighed and she said, in an awesome New England accent, "One f-wahty". Very cool dog, didn't seem to mind the crowd milling around it. Sawr nutha d-wog end went ahfter it. Got beck tuh the cah end retuhned tuh Summahvill.
Lest few days hev been prutty busy. Levt fuh wuhk et lahk sevin-fifty, almost evrehday. Git theih by like nine.
Duhn't knuh wut ilse tuh say, nehw. Rilly tahred, shud gitta bid. Thet's alla now, mufraid. Mebbe sumtahme late thus wek, ef I cin.

crepe-y... a stroke of genius...
found your comment on manasi's and was just curious... (ok very!) do you speak welsh??
I tried learning Welsh last summer. I don't speak it, but I'm rather fascinated by Welsh culture, history and the rugby team. Been following them nigh on 2 years, now. Have always wanted to visit, and learn more about the nation.
From an online translator - D acha Cymru! Ddyhea buchedda 'r 'n Goch Ddraig!
Are you from Wales? Do you support the rugby team in battle?
